IMPORTANT - If your boat is longer than 24 meters you must have the mandatory ITC69/coding certificate. If you are not a UK resident, you must have a UK registered agent.

How long does it take to register?
The normal procedure takes about 3 weeks. In addition, we also offer an "Ultra Fast" procedure where the yacht will be registered within 3 business days.
What documents are required to register?
For boats built before 16 June 1998:
- Copy of sales invoice, sales contract or invoice
- Photocopy of identity document or passport, if the owner is a company, we need company formation documents.
- Photo of the engine showing the engine number
- If the boat is longer than 14 meters, one of the following measurement documents is required: manufacturer's certificate, tonnage certificate, survey report or yacht manual, etc.
For boats built after 16 June 1998:
- Copy of sales invoice, sales contract or invoice
- Photocopy of identity document or passport, if the owner is a company, we need company formation documents.
- Photo of the engine showing the engine number
- Body number photo
- CE plate photo
- If the boat is longer than 14 meters, one of the following measurement documents is required: CE certificate, manufacturer's certificate, tonnage certificate, survey report or yacht manual, etc. If you are unable to provide us with these required documents, we can assist you in the process of obtaining them for you for most boats.
Can I still use a British Part 1 registration after Brexit?
You can continue to use your British Part 1 registration after Brexit. There are no restrictions for cruising in the EU.
How long is British flag registration valid?
British flag registration is valid for 5 years. The renewal process requires less paperwork and we will contact you 6 months before the deadline to assist you.
Can my boat have any name?
You can register the boat with any name you want, it is also possible to register the boat without a name.
Can you use your boat for personal use, bareboat charter or commercial purposes with UK Part 1 registration?
Yes, with UK Part 1 registration, you can use your boat for personal use, bareboat charter, or commercial purposes. The procedure and required documents are the same for all three categories.
What are the maritime requirements for British flag registration?
- The boat owner is obliged to ensure that the issued official number, registration certificate and registered tonnage are marked on the boat.
- The name and also the preferred port should be clearly marked on the stern of the boat.
- In addition, the owner must confirm that the boat has been properly marked by returning the approved engraving and marking note within 3 months.
The documents required for UK Part 1 registration are:
- Letter of Authorization (we will prepare this)
- Your boat must have a unique name. Once you have received your registration request you will need to provide 4 unique names so UK authorities can check availability.
- A tonnage and measurement certificate (not older than 1 year) is mandatory but can be made in your home country. Just make sure it is done by one of the authorized sailors. Authorized shippers are: (ABS Europe Ltd), Bureau Veritas (BV), Det Norske Veritas (DNV), Germanischer Lloyd (GL), Lloyd's Register (LR), Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (NKK), Registro Italiano Navale (RINA)
- Copy of your passport
- A copy of the radio call signal (if available)
- Certificate of deletion (if previously registered)
