Registration of boats under the Belgian flag used to be common practice. However, in September 2019 the government changed this by announcing that boat registration under the Belgian flag would only be available for Belgian citizens and companies. Now, if you want to register a boat under the Belgian flag, you must either be a Belgian citizen or have a Belgian company that you own at least 50% of.
Existing licenses will not be affected by this new rule until their renewal period expires. If you are a Belgian citizen, you can still contact us to deal with your boat registration.
Alternatively, we can also provide Polish (EU) flag registration if you are required to have a European Union flag that is valid worldwide. This registration is valid for the life of the boat and you do not need to renew your documents. There is no need for a yacht survey and if you provide the correct documentation the process can be completed within 7 days.
